5 of the Best Motivational / Inspirational Speakers Based in Adelaide
Anna Meares OAM
Anna is one of the most authentic presenters you will ever see. Her down to earth, relaxed style is a million miles away from her high-pressured performances as the best Olympic cyclist this country has ever seen. She embodies resilience through and through, which is something we could all use a bit of right now!
Dr Richard Harris SC OAM
Co-recipient of Australian of the Year 2019, ‘Harry’ had nerves of steel when he was a major part of the team who rescued a soccer team of 12 boys and their coach trapped in a cave with rising tide in Thailand. Harry’s expertise in diving, wilderness and remote health, along with his talents as an anaesthetist, made him a perfect fit for this rescue. His talks focus on resilience, troubleshooting and how to focus on a goal no matter how insurmountable the odds.
Henry Olonga
Henry was the first black player on the Zimbabwean national Cricket Team. In 2003 he made world headlines along with teammate Andy Flower when they wore black armbands to protest at ‘the death of democracy’ in Zimbabwe. He was forced to leave his homeland with credible death threats, which also spelled the end of his cricketing career. After moving to England and becoming a commentator and speaker, he now resides in Adelaide with his wife and two children. Henry talks on his life as a national sporting champion, his political exile and being an Opera Singer! He appeared on The Voice in 2019. He finishes each keynote with a spine-tingling live operatic performance, which cannot be missed.
Katrina Webb OAM
Katrina is a triple Gold Medal winning Paralympian who turned her disability into one of her greatest strengths. She has walked the Kokoda Trail twice, trekked to the Everest Basecamp and is the Global Ambassador for the International Paralympic Committee. Katrina’s story inspires and motivates. Success isn’t always the easiest journey and there are often many hurdles- but they can be jumped!
Dr James Muecke AM
2020 Australian of the Year, James founded Sight for All in 2008 to fight against blindness in the Aboriginal and mainstream community of Australia- and also some of the poorest countries in the World. In 2016 James had to prematurely retire from surgery as a result of a progressive neurological disability. He has continued with his passion to help others. He delivers a passionate, fascinating and at times confronting presentation about his life, his work, philanthropy and social entrepreneurship.
