Don Watson has been writing about Australian politics, history and culture for forty years.

An academic historian for a decade he went freelance in the 1980s to write satire for the great comedian and political impersonator Max Gillies; speeches for John Cain and Paul Keating; a couple of films, countless essays and articles, and a series of award-winning books.

He also does a good deal of talking to private and public sector organisations, conducts workshops on writing and makes amusing keynote and after-dinner speeches.
